En la ciudad de Granada, aun existe un edificio de viviendas del siglo XIV en pie. En esa época Granada era una medina árabe mayormente conocida por la fortaleza y palacio de La Alhambra. Lo que no es común es que se mantengan en pie viviendas de la población como es el caso de este patio de vecinos.
In the city of Granada, there is still a 14th century residential building standing. At that time Granada was a Moorish medina, mostly known for the fortress and palace of the Alhambra. What is not common is that houses of the population are still standing, as is the case of this courtyard of neighbours.
Su construcción data de 1300 y es un patio central cuadrado con las viviendas a su alrededor en galerías de tres alturas.
Its construction dates back to 1300 and it is a central square courtyard with the houses around it in three-storey galleries.
La gran portada de entrada tiene el característico arco de herradura árabe.
The large entrance doorway has the characteristic Moorish horseshoe arch.
En el centro del patio hay una fuente de agua canalizada de la sierra.
In the centre of the courtyard there is a water fountain channelled from the sierra.

El patio está decorado con vides que en verano protege del sol con sus hojas y en invierno deja pasar toda la luz. En los alcorques de las vides hay plantados unos acantos, para dar un toque de color.
The courtyard is decorated with grapevines that protect from the sun with their leaves in summer and let in all the light in winter. In the tree surrounds of the vines are planted some acanthus, to give a touch of colour.
