Babymetal is a Japanese kawaii metal band consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal", Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal", and Yui Mizuno as "Yuimetal". Kawaii metal a.k.a idol metal, cute metal, J-pop metal, or kawaiicore is a musical genre that blends elements of heavy metal and J-pop. Babymetal is considered the inventor of this kawaii metal genre.

Babymetal has been increasing the number of metal music fans in Japan for a few years. Sadly, Yuimetal left Babymetal due to an undisclosed illness in October 2018 making Babymetal become 2 people. "Gimme Chocolate" is a song that makes me know about Babymetal. I got this from my friend who loves them. It's cute to see three of them together with a song that is not as hard as other metal songs that I know and cute too at the same time.

After Yui left, Babymetal was still active with 2 people until the hiatus on October 11, 2021. After 2 years of Hiatus, they are returning with a new album "The Other One" and they are announcing the new third member. One of the songs in "The Other One" that's recommended to hear is "Monochrome".

Maybe some people who love hard rock or metal music will feel differently about Babymetal's songs. Momoko Okazaki a.k.a Momometal has officially become a new third member of Babymetal since April 1st, 2023. For the news, Momometal got an interview with Metal Hammer. Momo explains that, despite having performed as one of Babymetal's backing dancers for years by that point, her official confirmation as a full-time member of the core band at Yokohama’s Pia Arena left her momentarily racked with anxiety. "I was most anxious about whether I would be accepted or not", she explains. "A lot of thoughts ran through my head, and I knew that to try and be suddenly accepted through the course of Babymetal’s long history was going to be very difficult. I honestly had absolutely no confidence whatsoever, and couldn’t quite really believe that I’d be an official member until the exact moment of the announcement. I remember I was so nervous that I was slightly shaking.”
