There's this phenomenon in Singapore that I'm not sure what to make of it, where the elderly just sit by themselves in some corner or space of the neighbourhood for hours on end.
The reasons each may have for being where they are are probably unique, like perhaps they don't live near their loved ones, or those they once found companionship with are no longer close to them or cannot be there for various reasons.
Or perhaps it is a critique of our society that we left them out when we planned for the development of the nation.
