Seven days ago, people had the opportunity to submit their best post written in January. 17 people shared an url under our post. We then took the time to look at all the posts and rated them in an objective manner. The quality of the posts submitted was pretty good this month. We have rated the posts from 1 (low quality) to 10 (high quality). The lowest mark given was 5 and there was one post marked with 10 points. All the other points were rated between 7 and 9 points. There were also a couple of authors who had submitted a post in December but didn't do so in January. In their cases, we took 50% of the December points for this ranking.
The points received through this post submission are called content points and they represent one part of the ranking points. The other part of the Ranking points is defined by Asset Points. People get asset points by holding CTPSB Gold or Collector NFT's or by owning CTPSB tokens. What is important here is that Asset points and Content points are multiplied by each other to give the Ranking points. To be well placed in the ranking, it is therefore necessary to create good content and also to have some skin in the game. You can find more details about that in this post.
Exclusions from the ranking
There are some special situations where people might be excluded from the ranking. One is for behavior that is not tolerated, like the publishing of content that doesn't belong to the author. Another is when somebody is on a downvote trail. This means that the posts of this author are constantly downvoted. Even if this is maybe not deserved, the project cannot support such authors because the downvotes are taking the curation rewards away from our votes. Since the project and the token value of CTPSB can only grow thanks to these curation rewards, we need to consider the interests of the token holders first in such a situation.
