VICTORY!! (after two vicious losses I conceded. lol)
I don't know how long it's been since I last played a match but I'm sure it's been nearly as long or longer than this whole COVID scam has been going on.
After about a year or so, I have noticed some changes since the last time I played. There has definitely been a fair amount of optimization, the game runs a lot faster and smoother than it used to.
There have been a lot of changes to the graphics and animations, which I really like so far. Especially the 3D Lion's head that comes out when you play a card with roar.
When I first found this game I purchased a bunch of Genesis packs.
I figured they would be a worthy investment, considering how well games like Magic The Gathering have gone over the years. As it turned out, I was right! Once the card market opened up, I was able to quickly sell off a lot of my "shinies" (Gold, Platinum cards) for much more than my original investment.
I didn't just see this game as an investment though, I actually wanted to play it as well. Games like this one never really caught my attention up until GU came around but once I tried it, I was hooked in for quite a while.
In fact, it wasn't until ETH gas prices went up that I started to lose interest because it was affecting certain aspects of the game. I wanted to be able to take the cards I was earning and blockchainize them but it was simply too expensive for the devs of the game to do, so I decided to find something a little more profitable to do with my time.
Unfortunately, this is STILL the case as ETH gas prices have not gone down since. I haven't been in their Discord for a while but I hope they're working on a way around this because it's beyond the point of taking too long now.
Fusing is temporarily disabled due to network congestion. BAH!
Once they get this issue resolved then I think GU will have a much better chance of survival, although it does seem there are still a fair amount of players enjoying the game, even though its operability may be limited.
It just annoys me that I can't turn my cards into blockchain items but whatever, the game is still a good bit of fun when you're looking for something that isn't work-related to do.
Speaking of which, I think I'll go play a few more matches.
