While many could argue that we are still scratching the surface of the first real use case of blockchain technology - financial services, many are already wondering what will be the next frontier to this emerging technology which is poised to disrupt many industries in the future.
In fact some developers are already laying the groundwork for other innovative use cases for the nascent technology where they try to integrate it to other emerging technology such as virtual and augmented reality.
A good example of this is Enjin, a blockchain project built on the Ethereum network that is primarily aimed for the tokenization of in-game items and enable users to have true virtual ownership on items they won or bought.
It is but natural for people to want real ownership for assets that they have spent their time and money to acquire and blockchain make this all possible.
Ultimately for this space to succeed it needs people who will use its decentralized applications, with the increasing interest on virtual and augmented reality as well as the increasing integration of blockchain into them we might have already found its next frontier.
