Beware! Impressively unimpressive service!

Following from my post a few days ago I wanted to keep you guys up to date on my dealings with Xapo wallet. For those of you who did not read my original post, I wanted to give Xapo wallet a try, for the purposes of comparison and to write a review here on Steemit. Well, It didn't go well, and ended up being an ordeal that lasted over 2 weeks! I encourage you to read more on that in my orginal post.

Well, finally, today my bitcoin got sent to my non Xapo wallet. Here is the kicker, I got a email notification that Xapo has STARTED processing my payment THIS MORNING, that means it took them over a week to even enter my payment on the block chain! Once that happened, obviously about an hour later I had my 6 blockchain confirmations and was good to go.

When you look at the Xapo website Q&A, they clearly say that all payments are immediately sent to the blockchain, and that the time taken to send Bitcoin is out of their control, this is an outright lie! Xapo was holding on to the bitcoin for whatever reason.

Conclusion

I think it is not hard to guess what my conclusion is, do not under any circumstances use any Xapo services! Buying bitcoin from them takes forever, the app is buggy, the service is crap, the customer services people never reply to any emails, the fees are extremely high, and they can take over a week to even send your bitcoin to the block chain!

There are plenty of reputable and fast places to buy Bitcoin, I recommend BitPanda, I have nothing but positive things to say about them. To hold and send crypto I would recommend either the Exodus, Jaxx or a hardware wallet. Don't trust any company to hold your crypto for you, have the control of it and enjoy the benefits of decentralisation!
