In the 11 days since its launch, the tool has been in “beta” mode. I gathered suggestions from some users, diagnosed structural issues, fixed bugs, revised the design, and added new features. The tool is now ready for everyone to use [Secure link: https://hive-communities-ybhcto.abacusai.app]
Active communities are now updated once a day, instead of hourly as the AI had initially programmed. A daily update is sufficient, thus avoiding unnecessary expenditure of resources (credits).
We consider communities to be active if they’ve had posts in the last year, from October 2025 to today. Only these are represented in this tool. The rest can be viewed on other front-ends (Peakd-communities, Ecency-communities, HiveSuite–communities).
As mentioned in the previous post, I checked in on the nearly 1,000 communities that were active. I don’t have good news for you. By the end of the year, many of them will disappear from this site if they haven’t posted anything in the meantime. In 11 days, 20 have already disappeared.
Still, given the turmoil in the cryptocurrency market—which influences participation in this blockchain—I actually believe there are still a good number of active communities.
The PEPT Game community has been moved to the EDUCATION category, as suggested by @fjworld. As an added bonus, there is now a direct link to the community's front end.
@thelogicaldude, your request was successful—there's now a direct link to the corresponding front-end: BlockTunes. Thanks for the suggestion—I took your advice and added direct links to the other front-ends:
@snapie,
@hivesuite.app,
@scrobble.life,
@slothbuzz.
New
Now you can highlight your favorite communities. When you open the details for each community, you can click the star, and the community will be outlined in orange, highlighting it in the menu. This allows for a new visual organization.
Practical uses of this tool
It’s a useful tool for welcoming newcomers or those who have recently joined HIVE. Communities are the heart of the ecosystem; that’s where shared interests, tastes, and motivations come together.
Since the communities here are divided into categories, this makes it easier for content creators and curators to find what they’re looking for.
Manual Curation
When I’m curating content, I like to go directly to the communities instead of relying on front-end feeds. That’s why I created this tool.
For those who do manual and diverse curation, this tool can help you plan more efficiently. For each day of the week, you can choose different categories to search for content.
I created this sample calendar, which can serve as a basis for a potential new curatorial project of your own.
Automated Curation
I’m not against automatic votes, as long as they’re programmed thoughtfully. The agenda I left can also help automatic curation groups, such as @we-are-ai, find content to vote on. Why not program a bot to scan different community categories daily, from Monday through Sunday? That way, they could be sure to curate a diverse selection. It's just a suggestion.
