As opposed to the forgotten islands, there is an archipielago in the atlantic that havent been forgotten by promoters and investors... the canary islands have been exploited for a while now mainly because of its weather, not too warm in summer and a very mild winter witch makes it the perfect gate away for european seeking for a bit of sun in winter.

Despite its constant flux of tourists arriving every year, the islands has maintain its beauty, and there are still unspoiled areas for the one willing to do a bit of exploration.

I spend a month there last winter mainly exploring the area in my quest to find a nice place to settle somewhere but finally decided to leave and keep searching...

Here I post a few photos (sorry for quality its a smart phone) from that trip, hope you enjoy it!

The end of the world or the beginning?

Fuerteventura is dry and windy, some tiny villages are spread around the island, gives a western like atmosphere...

El confital, great wave, looks like Indonesia! Unfortunately El confital is a city break... Las Palmas de Gran Canaria sits right in front and the locals have it wired and they are on it anytime its on, this picture looks dreamy but its actually very small and shallow... This wave had a reputation for been heavily localised for many years but it seems to have calm down, I didnt have any trouble.

needless to say the surf was good and sometimes way too solid for me... like this session at el fronton, probably one of the most tubular wave in Europe. Very few surfers, mainly surfed by bodyborders.

Thanks for watching!
