ETH is up 6% over the past 24 hours to a respectable $722. For the past week it's up an impressive 16%. The icing on the cake? Serena Williams' husband (aka Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian) predicted the coin would trade $15,000 by year end. Yes, we know - that's ridiculous and won't be definitely reached this year (if ever). Someone should show this guy how supply works correlated to a token price. Math classes anyone?
A lot of commentators had foolishly written off ETH as permanently broken after weeks of unquestionably bad price action on a relative basis to other top coins. The coin had lost its mojo it seemed. Some blamed ICO-related hedging. Whatever the case, ETH has regained its top form. The coin has basically doubled in less than a month. Sure, lots of coins have doubled in the past month. But not coins anywhere near the size of ETH. Ripple, BCH and EOS combined are just $2 billion bigger than ETH by market cap. BTC is twice the size of ETH by market cap but its gains are about the same in dollar terms over the past 30 days. Sharding rumours may have something to do with it too...
ETH has also one revolutionary concept down the pipe: Casper. It is a self-governing blockchain that is supposed to eradicate all corrupted activities. Sounds great but is it achievable? Is it achievable NOW? That would be a breakthrough, yet, it is quite utopian at this moment. We will have to wait for a fully-fledged AI to make it work, I suppose.
In other news, Golem surged 60%, Loom Network jumped 45% and Polymath (the security token platform) rallied 20% since yesterday. I wouldn't sleep on these coins. They'll steal your lunch money. It's starting to feel like the Goldman news is sending positive shockwaves to crypto bears - and bulls - alike that the time for crypto hibernation may be over.
