Greeting dear hivesrs. This is my entry in this week prompt by @ericvancewalton for #memoirmonday.

The purpose of my life is to live with love, gratitude, and resilience, embracing every role and challenge with grace.
As I stand at the threshold of 60, my life unravels like a vivid film, frame by frame. I call myself a woman because, for most of my life, I have been identified by my relationships: a daughter, daughter-in-law, wife, mother, and so many others. But today, as I reflect, I see myself beyond these roles—a woman who has lived, learned, and cherished every moment.
Born as the first child in a modest family, and in fact, the first grandchild in the extended family, I was showered with love and affection. My grandmother, who never had a daughter of her own, doted on me endlessly. My parents, despite their limited education, recognized my thirst for knowledge and supported my education wholeheartedly, something uncommon for girls in those times. Their pride in me was evident, and their encouragement laid the foundation for a childhood and youth filled with joy and contentment.
Marriage brought its own set of challenges. I was welcomed into a large, well-knit family, but my strengths and virtues often became the cause of silent rivalries. In their bid to prove themselves superior, some family members created hurdles for me. Yet, time has a way of healing old wounds, and today, those very relationships have transformed into bonds of mutual respect.
As for my husband, he has always been a good man, but I was neither his first choice nor his last. The realization was a bitter pill to swallow, but I channeled my energy into nurturing our family and building a harmonious home. God blessed us with four wonderful children—the most precious gifts of my life. Their love and laughter have always been my greatest solace.
My career as a teacher was another fulfilling chapter. I discovered myself through the love and respect of my students, their parents, and my colleagues. Teaching was not just a job; it was a journey of self-discovery, one that gave me purpose and joy.
Even now, I miss my parents. Like every child, I must have wished to grow up quickly, but now I long for the warmth of their embrace, their unconditional love, and the sense of security they provided. I wish I could relive those carefree days, playing innocently with my siblings and friends.
Despite some prickly memories, life has been kind. When I look back, I realize I have been immensely blessed. The pain and struggles do not diminish the beauty of what I have received; they only add depth to it.
Today, I feel a sense of peace—a quiet contentment that comes from knowing I have lived a life of purpose, love, and gratitude. Yes, I have lived well.
Thanks readings my blog . Have a nice day.
