For the difference between military rule and religious extremism is nothing but a hairsbreadth, in both cases we find authoritarian thinking, blind obedience, and a belief in the possession of the absolute truth, and a rejection of the other opinion, rather treating it as treason or infidelity, and in both cases force prevails over logic, and battles are decided by liquidation, not dialogue. And the right of reason to object and take an independent position is taken away, and the media platforms that cultivate in people the ability to think critically disappear.
