There's a lot of money exchanging hands these days between creators and consumers. It's a big pile. I've been staring at for years wanting it to come our way.
Unfortunately you'll be staring for many years to come, right up until someone comes and does it properly. The biggest sticking point with Hive (apart from the confusing name) is how easy it is to join compared to other platforms. I can make a new Twitter, Youtube, Patreon, Facebook profile in seconds. In fact I reckon I could make all of those before I managed to secure one Hive account.
Also the fact that you're rewarded as a viewer is skewing the whole creator/consumer balance.
People give money on those other platforms because they enjoy the content, here they do so because they'll get rewarded. The bigger the posts the more the rewards, so the votes tend to drift to the biggest accounts or the ones that the biggest accounts are following.
So as a content creator you're left with the rather stark conclusion that; "None of this is real!!"
