Obowo villagers are not happy, the villagers were very angry because there was a deadly beast hunting animals in the forest. Before the hunters will get to the forest, the deadly beast has hunted the bush of edible animals leaving there bones only. Even there domestic animals at home were at risk.
At Oru two days ago, three cows went missing. No trace of the attacker, everywhere was covered with blood of the cows. The king's horse went missing in the palace, everywhere where searched but nothing was found.
Hunters in Obowo village swore to hunt and fight this deadly beast that is hunting animals in the village.
“No resting or sleeping today, we shall share ourselves different groups, everybody to take cover and be very alert. We don't know the deadly beast so everybody should be careful.” Majo said, the head of the hunters and brother to the village chief. He is huge and muscular. He was feared among men which gave him everyone's attention and respect.Everyone listened to him.
“We are getting ready sir” replied Dan, of the the beast hunters.
The women prepared food earlier for the hunters. This gives the hunters enough time to prepare themselves on how to capture the deadly beast. They took there hunting gun, cutlass and axes ready to strike. The Obowo's daily lifestyle was to hold still. The deadly beast has put fear in them.
The hunters waited the whole night for the deadly beast to appear, but the beast didn't show up. The hunters were tired and decided to rest secretly. Soon, they were weak and fell asleep. Even the strongest among them, Majo, was weak and fell asleep.
However, Dan was brave enough to stay awake and very vigilant. As the night was going further to dawn, he was hearing some footsteps approaching closer. He tried to woke others up but they are still far asleep. He tip toed and went to his position to face the deadly beast, but the beast didn't show itself. As he was checking around, he saw a tail waving. He positioned himself, brought out his gun and shot at the beast. The deadly beast made a loud scream waking other hunters up. The gun shot weakened the beast affecting his legs and his sight. The beast staggered it's way out of the village and fell down.
The hunter rushed to see the deadly beast that has been attacking the whole village, it was the “Tiger”. Dan was the person that hunted this beast down and was named the greatest hunter of Obowo village. Obowo village was at peace again peaceful.
