The little border town of Nusaybin is in Turkey, a stone's throw away to Syria. We arrived here after an exhausting 100km ride so together with our host, went to get a coffee for some much needed energy. Welcome to Simurg Cafe.

Artsy Entrance

The cafe was upstairs so we climbed up a set of stairs. It had some cool streets type arts on the wall. We knew straightaway we would be going to a nice cosy place!

Cosy Seatings and View

Being on the second floor they had a seating area overlooking the entire street. It was night time so the park were lit with colourful trees and footpath.

Something Different

We ordered Turkish coffee, something recommended by our friends since we were new to Turkey. It comes in a espresso size cup. The drink actually have coffee ground in it! We weren't expecting that at all. We drank as much trying to avoid the grounds.

After we finished, there are leftover coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup. Our friend said traditionally, people would tip the cup over, wait a few minutes and do a reading on it.

In my opinion I saw: two figures, one on the right is holding it's hand out to shake the hands of the left figure. I'm thinking it is something positive, perhaps new friendships to be had! What do you think???
