Kebab can come in all shapes and form. Depending on which country you're in, or even which region, you could get something completely different! This review is for the Turkish kebab version we tried recently.
Welcome to Suq Et
Simple Setting
The restaurant setting wasn't that memorable unfortunately, but they set the tables up very spaciously. Anyone can appreciate having personal space between the tables.
After we ordered, the waiter placed many side dishes on our table
Plenty to choose
The menu had a lot of things in it, some I'm unfamiliar with due to the language barrier. However they have pictures for some items and I will share two pages.
Lahmacun is popularly known as Turkish pizza
What about the taste?
First we had entree which was these lovely looking brown rugby balls. Inside they were filled with mince, onions and spices. They are coated with grounded rice. It was very tasty and made way for a delicious meal.
2 Kebabs and 1 Steak
The three of us got the following dishes:`
Tomato Kebab
Eggplant Kebab
Steak
They were all served with fresh onions, bulgur and a slice of Turkish pizza. All kebab are cooked over a wood or coal fire.
Price: ~15-25 Liras for a main
Something Different
Pickled chilli is among one of the side dishes here. They had it alongside pickled cabbage, yoghurt, herbs and bulgur. I tried just one, avoiding the seeds and they were still hot. Our local friend said the locals here love to eat their food spicy!
