Uber is introducing a route based pricing in Australia apparently that'll charge customers based on what it predicts they'd be willing to pay. So suppose if you're getting an Uber from an upscale or lavish suburb you'll have to pay more. To me it seems a fair step as those who can afford to pay more should be charged more. But apparently this extra earnings won't be paid to the drivers but instead it'd be re-invested to make Uber platform even better.

What's your opinion on this? Would you be willing to pay more if you live in an upscale suburb while your friend who lives in a suburb next to yours that's not considered upscale, will be paying less for the same distance travelled and in the same car?
