So last week I finally had the first opportunity to combine cryptocurrencies with my regular college lessons!
For this lesson we had to chose an article with a technical related topic. We had to summarize the article, present the summary to the class and at the end of the presentation we have to start a discussion about the chosen topic.
I chose the following article:

My question to the class at the end of the presentation was:
Do you think cryptocurrencies can replace fiat currencies in the future?
Well, it was a good question to start a discussion about in a class full of computer science students. What followed was a 15 minute discussion about the pro’s and con’s about cryptocurrencies.
Most of my fellow students already heard about blockchain and bitcoin but didn’t really know how the technology behind the blockchain works. In my presentation I did get a little deeper into the technical side of the blockchain. I explained the blockchain with the following picture:
At the end of the presentation my teacher and fellow students complimented me for the interesting topic and clear explanation about the blockchain.
What I learned in the end is that one of the most powerful ways of understanding something is to explain your topic to someone else. In this way you test your own knowledge and teaching others about it.
Stay healthy!
