As a kid, I never actually owned a sega genesis. I had 2 cousins who owned one and aside from renting it on the odd weekend, I rarely got the opportunity to play one. The collection below was bought all together at a garage sale in 1998, I only paid $15 for everything. I don't own many games, but a couple of them are top shelf titles.

Of all the games I own for the Genesis, Comix Zone is easily the best and most replayable. The others, to my understanding, are ports of arcade games. Although the graphics were not as impressive as Super Nintendo, I always thought Sega Genesis's Sound Synthesizer was its crowning achievement. Electric guitars always sounded more realistic on this system compared to other consoles of the era.
The reason the cartridges are different sizes is, the first games to come out for the console had bigger PCB's due to inadequate time to optimize the layout of the chip. Although N64 is my favorite retro system, Sega will always have a special place in my heart that cannot be filled by the other consoles. There is something magical about sonic and the mania it projects.
