Ilsa's toenails are overgrown. If they stay this long, this can do damage to her feet. Ideally, they would never get this long, but I have not done a good job of maintaining them lately. Below is my method for keeping nails healthy.
To keep her toenails trimmed, I use a Dremel to grind them down. The nails can be trimmed back to the "quick". This is the pinkish part of nail where blood vessels and nerves are found. When a dog's nails are trimmed regularly, the quick will recede and become smaller.
