Anything that could fly away is being removed.
The Japanese Grand Prix looks as though it is going ahead as they canceled qualifying for Saturday and moved it to within 4 hours of the main race. Race organisers who travel the Formula One circuit are removing everything that could be damaged and will put it back up once the storm has passed.

Sandbags just in case they are needed.
Teams after practicing today will be moving all their equipment that isn't essential to safer areas and whatever can't be moved will be raised off the ground in case of flooding. The race track is in lock down from midnight tonight until 5 am Sunday morning. Teams are not allowed to work on the cars and covers with locks have been placed over them. The FIA normally has cameras, but those have all been removed for obvious reasons.
I know that World Rugby must be using a local government weather bureau for their information. Formula One won't though and will have something far more precise set up as all the teams are all about information. I remember South African Rugby used Walt Disney Weather for it's reports when the game was nearly called off in Durban in 1995.It makes sense as Walt Disney Weather knows what type of weather is coming for each and every resort dotted around the World. They were right on that occasion and it was Francois Pienaar's contact that helped them out that day.

Maybe not a smart idea to go sight seeing on Saturday at the Sky Tree in Tokyo.
Sandbags were seen being left just in case along the pit lane as heavy rain is expected and will be the main cause of damage with flash localized flooding. It seems that the Japanese are used to this sort of thing and are not blowing it up like the World Press are. How many times have we seen this happen when they make news from nothing as there is little to report on and milk it dry.
According to Disney and Formula One everything will go ahead as long as there is no flooding as the storm would have passed already. Disney expects winds of 30 km/h on Sunday afternoon with the occasional shower. It looks like Scotland may be in luck and the game will go ahead.
