Hello and welcome to another edition of the Sportstalksocial Curation Showcase where we highlight sporting posts to the rest of the Hive community. Over the last few weeks the tribe has been growing rapidly and this is down to the quality and engagement happening within the tribe. @talesfrmthecrypt must be a smarty pants as his quiz is more challenging than the average sport quizzes I am used to. A regular feature on Monday is more of a challenge than a quiz so I suggest everyone participates as this is good fun. A quiz where you have to think as nothing is obvious and straight forward. I love the new features he is adding and can see this actually start to trend once others see this post. This is quality and seriously deserves to be pushed externally on social media. I am sure the general public would love to get involved with this as nothing comes close to what @talesfrmthecrypt has got going. We are only on quiz no 5 and already the transformation from quiz 1 is obvious.
@blind-spot is featured for the first time with his first snow boarding lesson. It is always great to see new authors posting sharing their sporting experiences. Looks like fun and will definitely take time to master as it looks easy, but we know that is not true. Any sport involving ice and snow you can see your behind so quickly so I wish him luck and look forward to seeing him succeed.
@edprivat's posts are always quality and this is just another example of just that. What he says is true about rematches as they are never the same as the first bout as expect the unexpected. The big difference there are so many areas one can improve. Footwork, grappling and punching depending on the outcome of the previous bout. Boxing you can only work on movement and punching so in MMA there are so many other facets to sharpen up and improve on. Always an insightful post and if you love your MMA then look out for @edprivat.
@wolfgangsport jumps headlong into the world of CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy) which is a degenerative brain disease caused from having your head bashed too many times. With the Superbowl just having been completed last weekend this is good timing to raise the risks that few want to even talk about. With technology and medicines moving at a great pace maybe we can get to the bottom of this and make the sport safer. Maybe the helmets give the payers a type of complacency for their own safety and if removed would they do what they do? Rugby is having similar issues and is helmet free so maybe not but then again rugby as a sport is more aggressive and in your face. A sport is never meant to turn you into a cabbage so lets hope something changes. I wouldn't hold my breath however as there is too much money involved and players are expendable and have a shelf life.
@gingerup discusses the resurgence of one of the biggest clubs in Europe being Newcastle United. The fan base they have locally could fill their stadium multiple times over and are a sleeping giant. 3 wins from 3 is something that had to happen as relegation has to be avoided this season in order to add new players next season. With the new Saudi Owners on board things look entirely different and expect them to be challenging for trophies within 3 years. The top 4 in the Premier League will just be that much harder to qualify for the Champions League and the usual suspects will have to raise their game if they want to be within the mix. This is healthy for the Premiership if you are a neutral.
First time for @pouchon to be featured this week and this is great to see more hitting the highs. A really interesting post around the final showpiece of the NFL and some info about the Sofi stadium which cost as astounding $5 billion to build. This kind of dwarfs most other stadium costs as who has this kind of capital to invest? The costs seem to be around where the stadium is situated forcing them to dig down deeper making the stadium sit lower due to a nearby airport. I enjoy these weird types of facts as this is not the normal stuff you hear about.
