I was laughing the other day with my daughter as we recalled something she did when she was much younger.
We were living in England at the time and it was the Cabbage Patch Doll craze period. She wanted one and it was midway between her Birthday and Christmas. She was screwed as we told her she needed to save up for it and be more like her brother.
Her brother wasn't a scrooge but he saved his pocket money and bought things he wanted. He valued money and has always been like that. My daughter on the other hand was a little more frivellous and was easy come easy go. Unfortunately she is still like that today, but not as bad.
It took her all of 4 days to get her Cabbage Patch Doll. I had noidea how much change fell down the back of the couch. She scrounged around the house and didn't pinch but whose money is under the couch cushions. I guarantee it was mine, but I am happy she actually thought of another way of getting something she wanted.That was the smart way of thinking and is probably the difference between guys and girls.
My son wasn't the wiser for what went down and probably still doesn't know. It woke me up to check the couch before my daughter though.
