I am still trying to work this one out.I don't know how it has happened, but others have stepped back and I have ended up with the apron strings. A bit like the changing of the guard except I never signed up for this and it somehow just happened.
A few weeks ago I made a roast belly pork with Apple Cider vinegar, mash and cabbage for dinner. Maybe I showed hidden talents that should have remained hidden. I used to barbecue twice a week and that was it and somehow I have ended up cooking every day now. I know what screwed me as I ran out of gas the other day and had to cook normally. That put me in the kitchen and I haven't left.
I have been thinking how to get out of this one and I think next week I need to have some late meetings so the apron gets passed back. Tonight I cooked burgers and cooked extra. I am hoping that it will keep them quiet tomorrow and leave me alone lol.
We all share the cooking in the house, but this is the longest this has happened and I have limited skills. The last time it happened I complained about the standard of the food, which is a no no and not recommended. I am not going to start looking up recipes to see what I am cooking next as I don't plan to have this chore much longer. I don't mind helping. but that doesn't mean I am doing everything either. Being an occasional guest cook sits more comfortably with me.
Moral of the story is never run out of gas on the barbecue.
