The Steem blockchain is not about instant rewards and is more about staking and having more influence.
I think we have all started to realise that Justin has not got a clue about lots of things. His entourage that he has surrounded himself with are most likely feeding him with information that he likes to hear.
Lets forget about token swap or atomic swap and tackle the massive boo boo in one of the announcements that being power downs in 1-3 days bringing Steem into alignment with other main stream block chains.
I joined Steem and one of the biggest selling points for me has been the security of having a 13 week power down.I just don't get why the rush and why everyone wants to play with fire getting their rewards instantly.
When mass adoption happens do you think everyone is going to understand all this stuff. Of course not but having a safety blanket of a longer power down is a security blanket that will attract more users than you might think.
24-72 hours is not a long time to protect and save yourself when you need time to prevent a hack. Steem has the savings option for those that want instant rewards and that takes 3 days to clear. I thought the longer period was to protect everyone including investors from pumps and dumps.
I have first hand knowledge of what it is like to be hacked as I was online watching it happen and couldn't prevent it. I have worked exceptionally hard on here and I am not overjoyed with this option.
How would it even work which tells me why Justin has no clue what so ever and should have asked his former employees of 1 week or so what and how this place works. The Steem payout system runs on a 7 day cycle so if someone has voted on something and they withdraw the funds within the 7 day period it isn't going to work as the vote is cast at the strength of the user at that particular time in Steem Power.
We all know why the 1-3 day period has been raised right now and is crucial to his plan and that is freeing up the stake he borrowed from the exchanges to vote in his precious witnesses. Developers have discussed this type of proposal before and recall a 1 month and a 1 week discussion happening and this is not easy.
Having lost the experience of key developers over the last few days I am not saying his plans have derailed, but they got a lot harder to implement. Many block chains suffer from not doing hard forks correctly as they are not that easy to pull off successfully. Look back at the issues we had as there is always something that needs to be re tweaked.
I am hoping we can stave off this attack as that is exactly what it is as this lot are clueless to exactly how this place works and runs. It took me around 6 months to learn this place and I am still learning and now you have someone needing to learn the ropes in a couple of weeks.
If I was in Justin's shoes I would have spent months learning the ins and outs before making a fool of myself as this is exactly what he is doing. Justin may be wealthy, but you also need knowledge and in his case he is severely lacking on the fundamentals of Steem.
