A short film by the Motherboard crew from 2015 looking at a small Chinese Bitcoin mining operation in China. The mines are placed in dalian, and in industrial-type warehouses that have been repurposed.
Of course things will have changed greatly since 2015, and I wonder whether Jin Xin and his team managed to keep ahead of the game? We do know that China is still the main hub for bitcoing mining in the world.
Jin Xin was still quite optimistic for Bitcoin in China at this stage, but that suddenly changed in October 2017, and the crackdown on crypto currencies has continued, which is only to be expected with such a totalitarian government at the helm.
