An interesting explanation of money and cryptocurrencies by Isaac Arthur. He first discusses the problems with the barter system, and then explains the various types of money that exist: representative money, fiat money, commodity money and floating currency. Cryptocurrencies of course fit into the latter model.
He also discusses the blockchain technology, and what other uses there are for blockchain, which includes establishing identity, which is the opposite of anonymity, which is what a lot of cryptocurrencies are trying to achieve.
Isaac's channel is futurist, and so it last of all looks at some of the problems that cryptocurrencies might have when faced with interstellar dimensions, a problem no one seems to have addressed yet.
Altogether this is a very interesting introduction to the subject, which combines new insights and ways of thinking about cryptocurrencies, together with good examples, and engaging graphics.
