The new official shame-list awards have been published on Steemit.

I do think if the witnesses want to "fix" this, it is there prerogative, and I am not totally against a hard fork change to make up-voting yourself less profitable. What I do not support is a new brand of Steemit shame police, baby-sitting our content and actions, and dumping on people for their behaviors authorized contractually by the blockchain. Implicit in the Steemit system is the ability to upvote yourself. People who bought Steem and joined the platform, bought it with this assumption and joined with this assumption. It is still our ability to do this behavior.
If the other people on the shamelist want to start flagging content with combined voting weight, I would fully support that too. On one hand, I do not like that because it censors content, on the other hand, it would be nice to turn this behavior on its head.
For me this is not about greed. This is about a system of social control placed on people to shame their behavior.
It is like someone snooping into your bank account saying they do not like how you conduct your business. Here is the question when they do this...
On a public blockchain, they have every ability to snoop. I get it. On a public blockchain, we also have the right to flag them for snooping and making a shamelist over it, which I did. It is trolling in my book, even though most others wont see it that way.
And I would be more sympathetic if the person posting this was a whale concerned about the long-term health of STEEM and STEEMIT because he has so many millions invested, and he has spent so much time helping run the platform as a witness or something. That's different.
A minnow shaming people to make a name for himself and causing divisiveness by something that aught to be resolved through the blockchain process, is not something I look favorably at.
It is not a big deal, but me personally, I do not presume I own other people's upvote in a manner in which I have a right to dump on them by how they use it.
