¡Hola mis queridos amigos de esta hermosa comunidad! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes el proceso detrás de este dibujo que, si les soy sincera, me tomó más tiempo de lo que pensé inicialmente, pero puedo decir que estoy muy feliz con el resultado.

Hi there my dearest friends of this beautiful community! Today I want to share with you the process behind this drawing right here which, have I be sincere, take me longer than I initially thought but I may say that I'm very happy with the outcome. 

Para este dibujo mi idea inicial era hacer un poco de práctica de perspectiva y luego también pensé que sería genial si pudiera mezclarlo con una vieja idea de un fanart de Yatora que he estado pensando por un tiempo y así es como surgió el concepto. Ahora, podrías estar pensando "¿Quién es Yatora?"

For this drawing my initial idea was to do a little perspective practice and then I also thought it would be amazing if I could mix it with an old idea of a Yatora fanart that I've been thinking for a while and so was how I came up with this concept. Now you' might be thinking "Who's Yatora?" 

Un poco de contexto aquí. Yatora Yaguchi es el personaje principal de una serie de animanga llamada Blue Period, en la serie podemos ver como Yatora tiene que experimentar muchos cambios en su vida y en su visión del mundo luego de que decidiera estudiar una carrera de arte en la universidad. Creo que la forma en que Yatora lidia con todo el estrés y la frustración que le llega es muy humana y lo convierte en un personaje con el que fácilmente te puedes identificar así que es bastante entretenido. ¡Pero si quieres saber más, puedes ver el anime!

A little context here. Yatora Yaguchi is the main character of an animanga serie called Blue Period, in the serie we can see how Yatora have to experience a lot of changes in his life and in his vision of the world after he decided to study an art major at college. I think the way Yatora deals with all the stress and the frustration that comes to him is very human and so it makes him a very relatable character so It's very entertaining. Ahora sin ir más lejos, ¡comencemos con el proceso!

Now without going any further, let's start with the process! 

PROCESO/PROCESS

Empecé a dibujar un lineart un poco desordenado usando dos colores, uno para el fondo y otro para el personaje principal, y luego lo pulí y agregué detalles en un lineart final en negro.

I started drawing a rough fanart using two colors, one for the background and other for the main character, and then I cleaned it out and added details in a final black lineart. 

Una vez hecho el lineart me decanté por el color base del personaje. Elegí azul para la base y luego lo pinté con un pincel para óleo duro usando rojo y naranja, lo cual al mezclarse con la base nos da un matiz bastante interesante.

Once the lineart was done I went for the base color of the character. I chose blue for the base and then painted over it using a hard oil painting brush with red and orange, which when mixing up with the base color results as a very interesting hue. 

Pasando de la cara fue el turno del cabello (¡en la esquina puedes ver una imagen de referencia de Yatora del anime!) el cual fui pintando desde una capa más oscura a una más clara y luego la ropa.

Moving from the face it was the hair's turn (in the corner you can see a reference image of Yatora from the anime!) that I painted from the darkest layer to the brightest, and then the clothing. 

Después de agregar más detalles a la ropa, pinté el color base de los objetos alrededor de la habitación, lo cual también me dió un poco más de orden sobre cuáles objetos pintar y cuáles dejar para más adelante, todavía usando el mismo pincel de óleo para pintar sobre el color base con colores cálidos para tener un poco de contraste.

After adding more details to the clothing I painted the base color of the objects all around the room, something that also gave me a little bit more order about which objects to paint and which to leave for later, still using the same oil brush to paint over it with warm colors to have some contrast. 

¡Un pequeño dato divertido sobre las pinturas! La de la esquina inferior izquierda es una referencia a una de las mejores pinturas que Yatora hizo mientras aprendía a pintar y la de la pared izquierda es una referencia a la pintura que Yatora hizo para su examen de ingreso en la universidad.

A little fun fact about the paintings! The one on the lower left corner is a reference to one of the best paintings Yatora made while learning how to paint and the one on the left wall is a reference of the painting Yatora made for his entrance exam at college. 

Al terminar con todos los objetos pinté las paredes, el piso, la estantería y el fondo exterior.

Being done with all the objects I painted the walls, the floor, the bookshelf, and the outer background. 

Por último, pero no menos importante: ¡los detalles finales! Como los reflejos, las sombras y mezclarlo todo junto con el lineart.

Last but not least: the final details! Such as the highlights, shadows and blend it all together with the lineart. 

Y después de algunos pequeños toques más, ¡aquí estamos!

And after some more little touches, here we are!
