Do Mothers have sick days?

Yes, we have days we are sick while tending to the needs and care of the house and family. Our sick days are not days off.

Do Mothers get breaks?

Yes, we get breaks called restroom breaks. Most of the time our youngest munchkins are knocking at the door asking

are you done yet?

Do Mothers go on vacay?

Yes, we go on vacation when we “vay-cate” the zoo (our house) for grocery shopping.

Do Mothers take naps?

Yes, we nap while rocking our babies to sleep on our chest and laps or when we collapse on top of the laundry.

Do Mothers get paid?

Yes, we pocket all the change found between the house crevices while cleaning. It’s not a lot but adds up overtime.

Do Mothers get spa treatments?

Yes, when we take baths while everyone is sleep. Peace and quiet is always a good treatment.

Do Mothers have days off?

Yes, we have many off days and they come from lack of sleep, energy and patience, during our monthly cycles and during menopause. You might wanna stay out of our way on our off days ;D

Do Mothers sleep in?

Yes, we sleep in our beds until woken up by chaos.

Do Mothers have time for exercise?

Yes, we get exercise time when chasing kids around the house and when rushing to tidy up for guests.

Do Mothers get beauty sleep?

Yes, we are beautiful even in our sleep. 💁🏽‍♀️

Do Mothers have fun?

Yes, we have fun dreaming of sick days, breaks, vacation, naps, payment, spa treatments, days off, time for exercise and beauty sleep. 🤣

I recently had a conversation with another mother about how our work is never done. As a SAHM I have to get creative with the ways I get rest or take breaks.

I wanted to come up with a fun, vague and nonliteral way to express some of what I experience as a mother. My job is never done and I never have days off. I’m okay with that because I know one day my babies won’t be babies any more and I’ll be wishing they were young again.

Kudos to all you beautiful mothers working hard to take care of your family and keep up your homes. You are beautiful and amazing and deserve everything listed above ~ ❤️
