Are we safe online?

The answer to this question is at the very heart of recent personal data leak controversy which got us to think once again about our privacy. Cambridge Analytica who stole facebook user personal data without any consent of users. They used it to target a digital ad campaign in favor of Donald Trump for the presidency which had a huge impact on the general election eventually becoming President of USA. Facebook has suspended the Cambridge Analytica and SCL's accounts but is that enough?
Why they took 3 years to respond to such an important issue. Our data protection is their responsibility but they were slow to tackle it properly. In today's world, there is a digital war going on and our data is at the center of it. If this happens to continue, surely people lose their trust and eventually quit social platform.
