The honest answer: For the best live UX and asynchronous UX we gotta use both!

We use Zoom because the cognitive advantage that comes via body doubling or @thekittygirl ‘s term, parallel working has a visual component to it. By observing another doing what appears similar to what you’re doing, the brain mimics the efforts of others and in so doing you can more easily begin, continue, or finish tasks.

Another reason for using Zoom™ is that we need the high quality “studio sound for musicians” so that we can hold Tiny Desk Concerts, whether for actual music performances, stand-up comedy or streaming nature sounds from an 8th century castle as @stuartcturnbull did for us during one day's Cuppa Joe ☕.
