This book made me realize that climate change is a serious thing. We are polluting more and more and mentioning this fact is not about pointing fingers as much as bringing awareness.
Petrol is cheaper than the cheapest wines in most of the places. While all of us are dealing with the consequences of our big carbon footprint actions, not all of us are responsible. In Sub-Saharan Africa 600 million people do not have access to electricity and most families struggle to live with less than 4 $ per day. A farmer in this location versus a farmer in the Netherlands will have a massively different capacity to withstand drought or crop failure.
Bill Gates in his book How to avoid a climate disaster. The solutions we have and the breakthroughs we need manages to bring forth a lot of data which shows that we need to make some changes. Obtaining green energy instead of using the one we get from fossil fuels is vital. Building green building like the Bullit Center in Seattle must become a normality. Using wind turbines and offshore winds like UK and Denmark must open new gateways for other countries to do the same.
I can write a lot in here but I believe that it is better for you to read this book if the topic of environmental issues concern you or to listen to two of my review versions for this book:
A very short one, in which I highlight the main ideas:
A long one where I go into the nitty-gritty and peal every layer of this book:
