Nothing else cleanses like fire.
All the bills and redundant documents: Put them in the burn barrel.
All the old homework and the resentment of quizzes: Put them in the burn barrel.
Prune the expired wands of fruit trees: Put them in the burn barrel.
Clear last year's pile of detritus: Put it in the burn barrel!
Old contracts that no longer serve anyone: You know where they go.
Fire has its own consciousness, and it was once hard for philosophers to distinguish from a living being. It dances, consumes, and spawns.
It can be reticent to grow if the burn barrel was rained full of soggy paperwork last week. It may require coaxing and stewardship...curation of fuel and oxygen.
Or it can decide independently to utterly consume Ventura and Los Angeles. It can cleanse our emerald canyons of all life.
Keep it in the burn barrel.
