RESULTADO. YO FELIZ CON MI VIEJO RELOJ RECUPERADO.

Hello friends 🌷 I wish you all well this day. It's a little cold here now. This is the time of the year when in Venezuela even in the hottest cities the weather becomes cool, especially at night and in the early hours of the morning. Thank God it has stopped raining and the sun has come out in most of the country.

Today in my blog I want to present the step by step to rescue a nice clock that I thought was lost. It turns out that I found in a velvet bag some clothes that I thought were lost. Maybe at some point I kept them to send them to be repaired and there they remained. I came across this beautiful watch that brings back many memories. I acquired it at a pre-Christmas fair at the PDVSA Monagas-Venezuela headquarters building. They used to do this kind of events and they used to be open to the general public.

I went with a friend who worked there. At that time PDVSA employees could obtain products from the fair and these were discounted in installments on their payroll. The general public had to pay cash.

THREAD BRACELET FOR MY OLD WATCH.

I took the clock for my desk after I had sorted out the rest of the stuff I found. This is the first time I have made this type of bracelet, I have crocheted them, but with knots and stones I had never tried them. So I took the materials I had on hand and started working.

I used king blue and dark blue Chinese thread, this is a very thin thread, I wasn't sure if it would look good. I also used light blue acrylic hearts. A tinder box. Scissors and silver balls. As you can see, I used very little material. To make the bracelet I used 25 cm of light blue thread for each side and 15 cm to make the knots. The truth is that I was stingy when I used the thread and that's why the design does not cover my wrist completely.

The first thing I did was to choose the type of knot I would use, of course the flat knot seemed perfect. What I did was to secure the thread on the hooking part for the watch band and made the first knot. In this type of knot one stitch is to make two turns, one crossing to the right and one crossing to the left. After that stitch I introduced the first heart. Then I repeated two stitches or flat knots and inserted the ball.

Following these same steps I placed another heart until the thread was finished, which I left too short because I was stingy. It would have looked nicer if the whole bracelet had hearts. I liked the result a lot anyway.

To finish off the design I made four flat knot stitches. I cut and burned the tip of each thread. It is important to remember to use the blue part of the flame when burning so that the yarn is not stained. We must also make sure that we have in our hand only the threads with which we made the knots and not the threads of the bracelet. Once I carelessly cut the threads of the bracelet and had to repeat.

To make the bracelet lock for the watch I also used 15 cm of blue thread. With the same flat knot I secured the bracelet. In this step you also have to be careful to take the threads of the bracelet and make sure that they are next to each other, in this way when tightening the knots the bracelet will not be deformed.

I finally got the watch back. Now I just need to take it to the jeweler to have the battery changed, I will soon be able to wear my watch again. It must be about 12 years old, those were the times in Venezuela when being able to buy a watch was not so impossible. Recently I had the battery changed in another watch of a different brand and it cost me 5$, I hope that for this watch the cost of the battery will be similar, although it always depends on the brand. They also sell batteries that are not the original and are cheaper.

RESULT. I'M HAPPY WITH MY RECOVERED OLD WATCH.
