Just this morning, I brought my kid out to Singapore's live outdoor turtle & tortoise museum. Thankfully the weather was cloudy and cooling. There were many visitors this morning too, mostly families like us who brought their young kids along.

We entered the museum after purchasing the entry tickets and were welcomed with numerous giant tortoise walking around the grass patches. The kid was highly intrigued by the sight!

The museum had baskets of cabbages available for visitors like us to buy and feed them. Naturally, like the rest who were there, we went ahead to grab one and feed the giant tortoises. Quite an experience for her!

The museum wasn't actually huge, but the different sections within it were enough to expose us to the different collections of these reptiles. One section which caught my attention was the pond of turtles. It was pretty daunting to see so many of them crowding around the edge of the pond. I suspect they were looking forward to being fed by us visitors. But its okay, we decided to keep our distance, haha!

The location where the museum was based at, also known as Orto, would be gazetted by the government as a residential zone sometime in 2023. This would mean that the tenants at Orto, including this museum and a large freshwater fishing pond joint, would have to be vacated by end of the year. It was quite sad to learn of this as it was of the very few rustic places away from the urban city in our country.

The future plans of the museum was still unknown and I do hope they get to relocate and reopen for visitors. It was definitely one of the few rare attractions away from the usual modern entertainment outlets in Singapore.
