Hey everyone, WOW these are growing fast. I have to date never grown crops of Corn (mielies) these are my first. Did you know that over 90% of Corn in the United States are GMO? Scary right? These are not in the United Stated, I reside in South Africa and these are certainly not GMO.

Now this is very interesting and I have a theory, however not sure it holds too much water, but here it is none the less....
Plants render just as much Fruit/vegetables as the nutrients they consume, the more the nutrients available to them, the more organic matter they are able to produce. On one single stalk for example say only 2 corn will be produced, however if this plant shoots more stalks it will be able to produce more organic matter in this case corn/mielies?
I really am nurturing these plants, so that theory may hold some water as I am doing a comparative experiment with other plants in another bed. Those plants have little to zero nutrients and are not nurtured as much as these and all only have 1 stalk and no side shoots.
The interesting question remains what will happen in a month or two when they throw vegetables will this indeed be true and will they have more than the plants with lower nutrients? Time shall tell but it promises to be very interesting indeed!
These irrigation pipes running through this mini crop look pretty professional, sadly they do not water these rows, that I do daily by hand with a hosepipe, it will be really cool to automate it in time but I will take that decision based on this seasons yield!
Here I took a couple of pictures zoomed right in to give you a good idea as to how lush and green these Mielies are, this is naturally thanks to my 'magic mix' of Urine, Molasses and Epson Salts, truly nothing beats it!
One of the many things I love so much about these, heirloom totally normal and natural just the way nature intended, no GMO here, none of my vegetables are GMO I truly do believe GMO's are poison and based on all the recent diseases and ailments these days one of the many factors, we are what we eat and live!

My favourite herb. perennial basil, insects love them too especially my bees! Between the basil, Mielies, Kale and Swiss Chard!
No photoshop here, they really are this green, I took these pics with my 3 year old Samsung phone, that dark rich amazing green truly is healthy and will most certainly render the most amazing, healthy, nutritious Corn!
I shall keep you posted with updates on this magnificent Mielie crop, I guess they should start bearing vegetables in the next 2 weeks odd..
