Today I will be sharing about my homemade incubator!
I first started my idea by looking online for incubators and realised why should I buy one if I could make one and save money . A tip for all that want to try this at home. The ones in supermarkets may not work as the eggs that u want to put into the incubator has to be between 1-10 days fresh. Only takes 1hour to prepare.!!
So this is how it’s done:
Step 1:
get a pottery bowl and fill a quarter of it then heat it up until it boils. (Tip// put the pottery bowl with the water in the oven until it boils).
Step 2:
Tip all the water out of the bowl and put a damp clean cloth into the bottom of the bowl. (Tip// make sure it fits perfectly on the bottom).
Step 3:
Clean the eggs that you are going to put into the incubator. ( can be 1-10 days after hatched)
Step 4:
on one side of the egg right down the letter “X” and on the other “O”. (Tip// must use pencil never use sharpie or crayons or it will be a possibility the eggs won’t develop).
Step 5:
Get your heat lamp and put it at the top of the bowl. (Tip// make sure it’s not to high up & not to low down and also does not need a lid can use wood sticks to hold it up).
Step 6:
make sure you keep on track of the eggs turn round 5 times a day. For example if you left the egg on the “X” side that night leave it on the “O” side the next and so on for 21 days. On the last 2-3 days do not turn.
Bonus tip// after a week of repeating that go into a dark room and with a torch put the egg against the torch to see if there is life. (Will see vains) if you don’t see anything just blank there is no life!.
