Yesterday a bit cold and windy so spent a liitle time at the allotment preparing some seeds ready for planting at a later date
I have put the potatoes upright in egg boxes spaced out to let the sprouts grow before planting them out in the allotment
This is known as chitting and gives the potatoes a good start before being planted
I have three varieties here early ones Charlottes which i hope to plant in a couple of weeks .These are a very small potatoe
so very good for salads.
Next out would be Matis Piper good all round potatoe followed by the Desiree this is a red skin potatoe.
Planted some leek seeds in trays to bring on now indoors ready for later date ,Some Runner bean seeds ready to be potted
in a few weeks indoors first
The Garlic plants and Onions planted a few weeks ago coming on well
