Evening all,
I've spent a couple of hours tidying the greenhouse today and this gave me the opportunity to have a look at the peppers.
One of my plants collapsed under the weight of the fruit. Luckily for me it didn't snap.
I've tied it up and now I'm helping it with some support. Loads of lovely fruit; this is a Sweet Banana pepper. (At least that's what I think: note to myself, next time use water proof labels for the pots).
The next one was supposed to be a Jamaican Chocolate pepper if memory serves me right but the fruit don't look like they should at all. Actually they don't look like any of the varieties I planted so not sure what happened there; cheeky seed seller maybe.
Hungarian hot wax; I love this variety, sweet and just mildly hot, great flavour to fire balance.
And another mystery one, like I said, for next season I need to get some proper labels. These might be some long variety of topepo rosso. Who knows really ...
And this evening's beer is the Single Wide IPA by Missouri's Boulevard provided by my lovely @massive-pop.
Beautiful hoppy aroma, plenty of fruity notes, some citrus there as well. Light hazy amber in colour, with a thin head.
The colour goes great with my Oxhearts.
When it comes to taste, it reminds of a Belgian style beer, although it has quite a bit of citrus and piney notes. Not too bitter and finishes on a slightly sweet malty note. It is a 5.7% and you can tell that from the overall taste. All in all, a good beer, nothing extraordinary but that's alright.
Thanks for having a look!
Cheers guys!
