The mystery hops bine is waking up again; while it was in the window sill it was growing too fast so about a month ago I moved it outside and I guess it got shocked a bit as it stopped doing anything for a while. There's plenty of new growth now and the first sideshoots are starting to show up. It still looks pretty sad and weak but ... maybe it will get some stronger.
2 days of soapy water spraying aided in the fights against aphids. This is one of the currants, it's a bit difficult to see in the pic but there's a few aphids that dried out and they moved to the top of the leaves to die; I guess they were trying to save themselves, heh.
On the cherry they still seem alive, but there's less of them; haven't found any big clusters.
The tayberry is looking great, no pests on this one and it's its 2nd year now so the production should be a lot better than last year; there's plenty of flowers indicating that as well.
And here's the Twisted Grapefruit IPA. I can't recall where I bought this from; it's from Scottish Belhaven Brewery.
It's another one of those brews whose can is better than the contents unfortunately. I've been promised sharp zingy grapefruit... it did not deliver. Smells fruity enough but then ... thin mouthfeel, sweet caramel malts, little bitterness but there is an overpowering artificial fruit taste; yes...it tastes kinda like grapefruit but the sweet type you get in candy. No sharpness, no acidity - liquid fake grapefruit sweets.
Oh well... heh, that's it from me.
Cheers
