Getting some initial exposure and upvotes can be very challenging for new accounts on Steemit. The learning curve is very steep and new blogs often give up early because this platform rarely gives instant results after an initial introduction post.
This series of posts can be seen as a step by step guide of things that can be done by anyone who starts out on Steemit to build up their post earnings over time...
I can not call this post Steemit Upvotes since it involves using another Platform that displays the Steem Blockchain. Busy.org had a lot of Steem Power Delegated to them by @misterdelegation which they use to promote their platform in a very constructive way that really helps the entire steem blockchain. What they do is give Free Upvotes to people who use both the busy tag and their platform to make posts on the Steem Blockchain. The big twist to this is that the upvotes are based on total amount of SP from your followers...
Everyone who has a Steemit Account also can log into Busy.org with their private keys in a safe way by using Steemconnect. The main difference between Steemit and Busy is the layout design along with some usability features. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I personally use both platforms.
Busy.org Advantages
Notifications Busy gives live notifications of replies and new followers which is a great way to stay updated. (this can also be done on Steemit with Ginabot on Discord which I have yet to try.)
Low SP Voting Slider Where you need 500SP on Steemit to get a voting slider, Busy allows accounts under 500SP so set their standard upvoting Power Lower so they can cast more votes. Being limited to 10 daily upvotess can be a challenge if you are socially active on Steemit especially when you reached 300+SP. Busy can fix this issue for you !
Videos play in Feed Watching Youtube or Dtube videos on Steemit can be a drag since you have to go to a post and click a link to go to another page where you can start watching the Dtube video. Busy just plays the video right from your feed without even having to click the post itself. This makes busy more suitable for use on mobile devices
Shows Upvote Values Busy makes it easy to see all the values from individual upvotes where Steemit only puts the biggest upvotes on top without the numbers unless you use the @steem-plus browser plugin which I would highly recommend doing when only using Steemit!
Loading Times Busy.org is generally a bit faster compared to Steemit and is a great alternative in case steemit is down for some reason.
Busy.org Upvotes Aside from all the user experience advantages, the potential upvotes you can consistently get from @busy.org or @busy.pay really make it worth to try it out.
Steemit.com Advantages
Steemit Saves Text When you write a long article on Busy.org and your PC or browser crashed you are forced to start over while Steemit always saves the progress you make. I experienced being forced to start over once in Busy.org which made me go back to Steemit as a post editor. (Busy does allow you to keep Templates)
Layout Being used to Steemit makes it harder to switch to busy because everything is a lot bigger and going through your feed to find interesting posts is a lot more time efficient on Steemit.
Browser Extension Using the @steem-plus browser plugin really gives a lot of the great functions Busy has on Steemit and it continues to being developed.
Getting upvotes from busy.org or busy.pay usually takes quite some time and effort because you need to build a following first and they need to have a minimum combined amount of Steem Power. This system by default is quite scammer proof since you first need bigger accounts to follow which is not that easy even as a real user (the hardcore scammers find ways though). Busy gives a user a maximum of 1 upvote every 12 hours.
To check how close you are to start getting Busy.org upvotes you can find your total followers_mvest at https://steemdb.com/@yourusername/data below all the names that follow you and above the list of names you follow.
So how high does the followers_mvest number need to be in order get upvotes from busy.org or busy.pay to start getting upvotes by using their platform and the busy tag? @busy.org seems to have lower requirements while @busy.pay has higher requirements (1 billion mvests+) and gives bigger upvotes. All @busy.org upvotes now seem to be worth 0.18$ right now. these are the followers_mvest numbers of people that got upvoted by @busy.org most recently...
The requirements to qualify for the @busy.org upvotes are not that high since there is no requirement of having accumulated a lot of SP. Somewhere around 300,000,000.000 followers_mvest seems to be the minimum requirement which comes down to ~150k overall followers SP. (Vests to SP calculator)
While the strategy of starting to follow everyone, make a comment in the hope they follow back to unfollow them a bit later probably works to get your total followers up, it is quite scammy and usually these accounts don't have a lot of SP. Getting quality followers is what you want to achieve which can best be done by using Steemit in a responsible way...
Provide Quality Content ( Quality > Quantity)
Accounts that have SP and use Steemit on a daily basis often are way more selective when it comes down to who they follow. Meeting these requirements is the first step.
Be Socially Active and make Friends
Steemit is a social network and being social really really works miracles when you want to get some exposure and grow.
Post Genuine Comments
Having good intentions and posting genuine comments often gets highly appreciated, comments that are just made to get something out of them tend to be quite easy to spot and won't do much.
Join Communities
Communities are a great way to find like minded people and are often run by accounts that have some influence on the network. If you are active in a community and do it properly, it will likely come along with some quality followers. The SBC (Steemit Betting Community) right now has 43 whitelisted members who combined have something around 200.000 STEEM POWER !
Busy.org is a great platform that in many ways is better developed compared to Steemit. The free upvotes they provide can be a huge motivation for newer accounts to do better and build a quaility following by using the Steem Blockchain in the way it is supposed to.
