Not to mention the sentiment of the community, looking at the guild and the activity/excitement there it's pretty much non-existent since everyone is beaten down by how much card prices collapsed way more than SPS that went down.
In the end everything comes down to having an inflow of new players and that simply won't happen when there is a knowledge that putting money in the game is a sure wat to get crushed. I also don't think there is a single person anymore right now that would recommend someone else to get into Splinterlands.
I fun game mode like Draft/Arena where with no bots/battle helpers allowed and where players pay a fixed fee to enter with packs as the prizes making them indirect sales could help a lot. Cards used in that mode can be delegated by players who then are able to earn part of the revenue. It would be an easy way for new players to enter the ecosystem making it so everyone can enjoy playing older cards also making them useful again.
Every now change and proposal now makes it so that more players leave while it doesn't bring anyone in.
