The team pretty much has set the price at 1000 DEC = 1$ in what can be bought in the store and for as far as I know they have no plans to change this. The demand fully comes from people buying DEC to buy packs or other things in the game. If it goes above the peg there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to buy DEC as it would be cheaper to just use regular payment methods.
