How is DEC pegged? Splinterlands team keeps it in that range or it just happened to work out to be roughly $1 per 1k DEC in its short history?

What happens if/when there's more demand for DEC, the Splinterlands team comes in and dumps cheap DEC on the market to keep the price pegged @ 1k for $1?
