So as you may have seen, I've started drawing comics lately (not necessarily uploading yet- I have a few saved, and a few planned, but only one posted). The plan is that I'll upload them when I feel like it, not counting them as actual posts. I'm counting this as a full post though- rather than just a joke, it's something I actually put time into.
This started off with me just doodling. I probably spent around 30-45 minutes just messing around in GIMP before deciding to do a snake. From there, it was probably around an hour of making the actual head outline (with lots of messing around mixed in- at one point, I put a cat nose on the snake just for fun, and it was surprisingly cute). The rest of the body was surprisingly fast in comparison- probably because it's a relatively simple shape, though I did get briefly stumped by the parts where the body went around the tree (something about the fact that it has to wrap around while remaining the normal width was hard to comprehend for whatever reason). The rest of the process was messing around with colours, shading styles and things of that nature. I think the drawing took somewhere in the range of 5ish hours total- probably only 2 of those were of serious drawing.
I do realise it ended up a tad on the small side... The initial canvas was 1600x1200, but I usually start by zooming in on a small part of it and going from there. I suppose I just zoomed in too much this time...
Anyways, I hope you like it!
