I could make it easy on myself, you know. I could make a simple explanation about how I like crows, I take pictures of crows, I like pictures of crows in black and white blah blah here let me list the various reasons why, and conclude with something like please enjoy my pictures of crows in black and white. There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing that. People do it all the time! So why can't I? Why do I have to complicate things and force myself to create a symphonic slurry of syllables and phonetics and characters that may or may not be pleasurable to those who have to wade through the damn composition just to get to the black and white pictures of crows? Can I just shut up already?
Obviously not. Clearly I have a problem with overachieving, but whether I am actually achieving anything at all, at least financially, is entirely up to you. I can keep kidding myself, though. Tell myself I'm being productive. Working that writer's brain of mine. Keeping it fresh. But the truth is... the truth... man... the TRUTH is that I am bullshitting myself. The reality is that I'm not trying to overachieve anything I just don't know how the fuck to relax. If it's not complicated, if I'm not swearing and sweating and clack-clacking on the keys deep into the night and suffering sleep deprivation dehydration mental constipation the next day then I'm not good enough. I'm not working hard enough. God forbid I should earn a couple dozen Hive rewards just for sharing a few photos of something I love.
Don't worry. I'm going to therapy tomorrow.
