Hello, Hivers and music lovers! Happy Music Tuesday at Hive!
Yesterday I was chatting with my favorite guy, who is none other than my son. And as it has become a habit I was asking him to recommend me a band or singer for the #ttt. Thanks to him I have discovered more than one musical gem and this case is not going to be an exception.
He recommended a singer that he also heard at Lollapalooza called Joy Oladokun. She has a voice so captivating.
She is an American singer whose career is quite young from what I've read, as she started to get some notice during the quarantine in the Pandemic. One of her singles appeared in the series Grey's Anatomy.
As far as what I've listened to so far by her, I like her a lot. Let's see what you think.
But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background for those of you who aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of @ablaze, who started the initiative.
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
You can find out more at ablaze's post with his recommendations for this last week the #117 116.
And without further ado, let's go with the tunes.
I found this song so positive, and in Joy's voice, it's beautiful.
It's perfect for cheering us up when we're feeling a little down. And all we need to do is Look Up.
This song was the first one I heard of hers. And I was immediately hooked.
She sings it with another singer also new to me called Noah Kahan. The song is one of the singles from her most recent album titled Proof of Life.
The third song I have chosen is written also by Oladokun. And is played by her in collaboration with singer Chris Stapleton. It is also part of her album Proof of Life.
What do you think? Have you heard her before?
Thank you very much for reading!
Enjoy the music, and enjoy life!
