To master the challenging art of river raiding, I teamed up with the experienced commander Vagn and his battle-hardened crew. After building the barracks and a specialized river raid dock in the settlement, I customized a unique Jomsviking warrior before setting sail to plunder valuable resources along the River Exe.
I realized that to truly secure the future of the settlement, the clan needed to look beyond local shores and master the complex art of river raiding.
To learn the ropes of these dangerous waterborne expeditions, Eivor sought out Vagn, a rugged commander who arrived with a trusty crew of weathered Jomsvikings.
Once the barracks was fully completed, I learned that the new structure would allow Eivor to recruit, manage, and customize a personal Jomsviking, a unique lieutenant who would lead others into battle.
I decided to change the recruit's gender and appearance, browsing through the available fighters until selecting a highly capable female Jomsviking.
With the lieutenant equipped and ready for war, I headed down to the old docks to meet the new arrivals. Sunniva and Vagn were waiting by the water, discussing the vast potential of England's river systems.
Vagn explained that his crew knew secret, heavily guarded routes along the coastlines where the clan could find an abundance of foreign cargo, armor, and upgrade materials.
I agreed to launch the voyage, utilizing Vagn's veteran crew to get a feel for the mechanics. We cast off from Ravensthorpe and charted a course far to the west, eventually arrived at the mouth of the River Exe.
As the longship glided silently down the river, I scouted the shoreline. Vagn pointed out that military locations along the riverbank held heavy chests containing foreign supplies, while civilian locations and small villages were ideal places to find ration chests.
I spotted a small village that looked relatively undefended. Though the peaceful villagers certainly should not hold massive hoards of silver or legendary weapons, their storehouses should bound to be stocked with food and medical supplies. I stood at the bow of the ship, and blew the raid horn.
That's all for now.
