Eureka is an Expression that is used when you see something surprising, or you discover a new thing, and then you cry or ululate for joy. Everyone passes through hard times and life is not always Christmas period. However, after enduring for a while, we yearn for something that will change the whole story, something that will eventually indicate breakthrough.
Once upon a time, there lived a family consisting of the Father, Mother and two children- a boy, Jimi and a girl. The families were middle-class and were happy with each other. They were contented with whatever they had, and their parents tried as much as possible to teach their children how to live on any resource that is available for them.
The children were growing up and everything was fine. They were sent to private schools where their parents think they will be properly educated and trained.
However, things changed for the family when the breadwinner; the Father, died in a ghastly accident on a field trip in his workplace. For a family, their Father's death was more like a catastrophe, it was devastating. It took them weeks to recover from the shock. At the time of their Father's death, the children were doing their exams. They failed woefully in the exams. At the beginning of the next school session, the children were admitted to public schools. As we all know, life in a public institution is usually not the same as in a private. Jimi, being the first child, started facing through a lot. He began having more responsibilities to carry. He had to take his sister to her school before he headed for his school. This is usually the role of his Father. Their Mother was not experiencing anything different. She had to take up extra Jobs aside her normal professional discipline, which was nursing In a particular hospital. She must provide the food that the family ate and as well but important stuffs for them.
The most painful part was when the dead Father brothers covetously took all his lands, leaving almost nothing for his wife aside a small piece of land. This pained the boy so much that he determined to become an architect and a surveyor from his small age.
Time went on, with struggling he was able to complete his University education. Even though he suffered a lot, looking for menial jobs to fend for himself, his sister and even support his mother. He finally became a surveyor who measured lands and worked on them. Things were not smooth at first, but it became better with time.
However, a day came when the wicked relatives (who stole all his father's property) called him to come and measure some land for them as they were being cheated by people. Even though he knew what they all have done for his family (how they abandoned he and his mother and sister), he still decided to help them and with the knowledge of an expert, all the lands were mathematically settled. Instead of compensating him with even a little portion of the land, the wicked relatives left him unappreciated.
Lo and behold, all things turned around for both Jimi and his family when he made the discovery that led to his breakthrough. The small piece of land, which was given to Jimi's mom long ago, was left unkempt until Jimi graduated from University. He discovered that the land was rich in gold, and it was abundant but rare to find in such area. The most astonishing fact was that neighboring lands did not have a trace of it. When the government heard of this, they immediately requested to purchase it for the sum of Two Million Naira, which Jimi immediately approved.
With this money, Jimi rehabilitated his mother and sister, sending them to Canada for proper up keeping. He bought over all the lands his father brothers stole and built a real estate on it which earned him millions. He forgave his father's relatives and even helped them to live more comfortably.
Indeed, Eureka; a cry of joy for the discovery of great wealth, changed his life from Misfortune to Fortunes and abundance.
